I am a molecular biologist with experience in cancer research. I studied at the University of Bath, earned my PhD at the University of Glasgow, and then recently finished a postdoc at the University of Hawaii.
In my spare time, I moonlight as a science communicator, by making science more accessible to the public. I do this by de-jargoning research papers and debunking sensationalised science reporting in the media. Jargonwall is my home for all my science outreach efforts.
I created STEM Women, an initiative to support and promote the careers of women who work in STEM fields. Together with two other scientists, we encourage more women to pursue STEM careers and discuss the challenges we face towards achieving gender equality in STEM.
